Water treatment chemicals

Our boiler water treatment chemicals are used to prevent trouble in boilers and help them operate efficiently. We offer chemicals that meet high safety standards in terms of ingredients as well as chemical effects.

Scales and corrosion in a boiler water system represent the greatest threats to boilers. They damage equipment, lower the heat efficiency, and cause steam to leak. Optimal water treatment eliminates these energy losses, helps to reduce the volume of blow, and increases the drain recovery rate. Kurita develops a wide range of products to address these needs, drawing upon more than 60 years of accumulated experience and know-how in boiler water treatment. One example is our line of multipurpose boiler water treatment chemicals, known for containing high-performance de-oxidants and being capable of preventing corrosion and scale formation while simultaneously adjusting the pH. We also offer sludge dispersants, soluble agents capable of removing scales while driving, anticorrosion agents to protect the water-supply, steam, and condensate return systems from corrosion, and boiler maintenance agents for preventing corrosion when boilers are not in use. In addition to these products, we also offer boiler water treatment chemicals that contain dream polymer, the first of their kind that add scale removing potential to multipurpose boiler water treatment chemicals, non-phosphorus boiler water treatment chemicals that satisfy phosphorus regulations, and boiler water treatment chemicals made from food and food additives. We will also satisfy the numerous other needs of customers, such as checking the effects of water treatment and the quality of steam generated from the boiler with the use of our original monitoring equipment.

We offer cooling water treatment chemicals that prevent trouble caused by water as well as propagating of Legionella bacteria and improve the system operation efficiency in the cooling systems of factories and office buildings to help reduce their energy usage.

Air conditioning, which involves controlling temperature and humidity, is indispensable for facilities like super high-rise buildings, underground malls, hospitals, clean rooms, and computer rooms. Air-conditioning equipment uses a refrigerator and circulates cooling water. This water may cause scales and slime to form and lead to corrosion in a cooling water system. These considered to be the three biggest problems with cooling water, and can cause air-conditioners to shut down, shorten equipment life, and lead to energy loss. Kurita has released the Kurisour Multi NT Series, which excels in separating slime and is capable of addressing the three problems with only a single agent.

We address all kinds of needs by offering an array of water treatment chemicals. These include OSR- (On Stream Remover) type detergents capable of removing calcium carbonate scale and slime without stopping the operation of equipment, water treatment agents for refrigerators to facilitate formation of the initial membrane in refrigerator copper tubes and removal of verdigris, anticorrosive agents for cooling and lukewarm water systems, cleaning and rusty-water prevention agents for the water supply and hot-water supply systems, and cleaning agents for the fins and filters of air-conditioners.

The cooling water systems at petrochemical complexes operate continuously for many years and at a high operation load. Kurita applies its wealth of experience in water treatment for industrial complexes, making use of the latest technologies. Kurita’s products sufficiently effective for equipment that has suffered from scales, slime, and/or corrosion, despite receiving conventional water treatment, helping to prevent corrosion from occurring and a decline in heat efficiency. In addition, we have water treatment technology that reduces the environmental impact, enabling customers to comply with recent strict environmental regulations.

We offer wastewater treatment chemicals that help reduce environmental impact through proper wastewater treatment by removing suspended solids in industrial wastewater of various characteristics and dehydrating and deodorizing sludge. Applying our wealth of experience in water treatment, we develop many different chemicals for use in wastewater treatment, sludge treatment, and other means of water environment preservation.

  • For drainage treatment, Zetaace can reduce the generation of sludge by lowering the amount of inorganic coagulants used. Well Clean binds to heavy metal ions to remove precipitates. Our lineup also includes Kuriflock, high-polymer coagulant that can be used with many types of wastewater, and Kurifarm.
  • In sludge treatment, the ampholytic polymer Kurifuture can significantly reduce the water content of dehydrated cakes. We develop new systems such as Anatis, which achieves a highly-efficient dewatering capacity through the thickening dehydration of low-concentration sludge.・For the protection of environment, we offer many different chemicals that help improve the water environment, such as air refresher, activated carbon, and oil sorbent because we offer total solutions for water treatment employing the diagnosis of water treatment and measurement control technologies. We also apply the extensive know-how we have accumulated over the years in the selection of chemicals and specification of the injection procedures and injection ratio to ensure the desired effect is obtained.

We offer a lineup of process treatment chemicals that are designed to maintain and improve production efficiency and product quality in the manufacturing processes of various industries, including the oil refining, petrochemicals, steel, and pulp and paper industries.

Petroleum process chemicals

Continuous operation, energy saving, and improved profitability in oil-refining and petrochemical processes require the prevention of problems such as dirt and corrosion at plants. To address these needs, Kurita offers many different types of anticorrosive agents, antifouling agents, scale inhibitors/dispersants, and fuel additives. We also have technologies for preventing naphthenate corrosion, removing heavy metals that poison catalysts, preventing dirt at high temperatures, and controlling ammonium chloride salt. The demand for all of these technologies has been growing in recent years. Kurita’s lineup of petroleum process chemicals keeps improving and addresses all requests and purposes. Specially-trained Kurita specialists ensure that general maintenance is in order, such as selecting optimal chemicals through the use of many types of monitoring devices and providing technological service adapted to operational management.

Iron and steel related chemicals

Water may be used in many different ways at iron steel mills. The ironmaking process is performed at high temperatures, and for this reason most of the iron and steel related chemicals are designed to cool things such as equipment, products, gas, and slag. Water is also used to clean equipment, products, and gases, and is added when sintering raw materials or adjusting chemicals for cold rolling and plating. In addition to these uses, water is also employed to generate steam from a boiler, and is sprinkled to controlling dust and other particles. Many chemicals are used to streamline production processes and for environmental measures, as well as water treatment. Kurita uses its long accumulation of technologies to satisfy many different needs and contribute to the development of iron steel mills.

Paper and pulp related chemicals

Paper and water are inseparable from each other. Paper is born and formed with water. From water treatment to wastewater treatment, Kurita has developed water for paper and pulp plants for many years. The technological strength fostered through our wealth of experience is applied to processes. We develop groundbreaking chemicals, such as yield and drainage improvers, utilizing our unique technology of specialized high polymers, and have made great achievements at numerous paper- and pulp-making plants. In addition to the development of these representative chemicals, Kurita’s biggest advantage is its extensive lineup of products that can be applied to different problems, and its proven technologies for applying these products. Kurita has an array of chemicals to address problems with slime and inorganic adhesive substances that occur in all processes, from stock preparation to paper making. In addition, we analyze water quality, water balance, and water-related problems within these processes so that the effects of chemicals can be maximized. We offer optimal chemicals, and also make suggestions on where and how much to inject. Kurita solves problems based on its comprehensive approach that takes into consideration all the processes. Kurita addresses many different needs in terms of quality improvement, productivity improvement, energy saving, resource saving and safety, while employing technologies that combine devices and chemicals and help paper mills develop.
